Dragon Quest V Conquers Japan Sales Charts

"One thing becomes very clear when looking at this week's Media Create sales chart: Japan loves its Dragon Quest.

Exploding to the top spot is the Nintendo DS port of Dragon Quest V. Incredible sales of 644,000 units -- that's even better than Metal Gear Solid 4's first week -- should be enough to convince anyone who doubted the popularity of Japan's crown jewel of RPG series. Not only would these be blockbuster numbers for a brand new game, keep in mind that this is a DS port of a PlayStation 2 port of a Super Famicom title. The love for this series in Japan never ceases to amaze me, and whatever fandom you think Final Fantasy enjoys pales in comparison. This successful release also guarantees that when Dragon Quest IX -- the next official installment in the series, and built specifically for the DS -- finally does come out, it should break all records for first-week sales. With second place mech sim Gundam Battle Universe on the PSP racking in sales of 138,000, and a respectable second week for Persona 4, it looks like game sales in Japan are finally back on track following a series of slow weeks."

Nintendo Bros. - Live and Uncut

Sounds professional, doesn't it? Pssh yeah right. But really, Nintendo Bros. is a new site I've been working on. Don't worry, I don't plan on ditching Slime knights 2.1 for this Nintendo thing. I always wanted to make a site about everything Nintendo, and it never occurred to me on making a Blog Site about it. In all its glory, I hereby present you with my latest creation, Nintendo Bros (link). My goal for this site isn't to be the best News source for Nintendo (there are tons of those), but I would like it to be a major source of some sort. I get in the know of things Nintendo fairly quick, so I thought I would share my expertise on this subject. Its also a good place to learn what other people with similar interests have to say. So check it out sometime. Hungry for some Nintendo? Head over to Nintendo Bros.!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

You know it was a matter of time before this game got an overview here at Slime Knights. The game we all know and love, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, is now making front page (as if there are any more pages...). Lets start by saying that if you have not purchased or played SSBB yet, then this article is for you. Otherwise, it will be the same old story for those who technically got it on or near release date. As many of you have heard, Brawl is definitely a game worth buying. Not only does it sport a brand new Adventure mode (distinct from its Melee counterpart) known as The Subspace Emissary, but its jam-packed with features that make this game a "bang for your buck". I won't ruin things with spoilers (don't expect any "how to" stuff here), so I'm going to mention some brief highlights. First off, the inclusion of Sonic the Hedgehog and Snake from the Metal Gear series is an instant plus. I mean, it was a classic gamer's dream to see Mario and Sonic in a 1-vs-1 battle. Snake represents a more modern combatant, but nonetheless a diverse fighter. Brawl also provides for a very large roster of playable characters, and several other fighters that made it only as Trophies, in which you can call for during a match to assist you in a battle. Finally, the addition of the "Final Smash" is what sets this game apart from its predecessors. This item allows its wielder to perform a unique special move that varies by character. Unleashing a FS (final smash) can surprisingly turn the tides in battle. This game was meant with fun in mind, and it is exactly what it provides. Beginners and Pros alike can jump into the action in this crazy, yet straightforward fighting game. If you haven't purchased Brawl, head over to your nearest game-retailer or visit one of our affiliate online stores at the bottom of the page to get your copy today!

"Ok so this is one of my favorite "local" urban legends conserning the first DQ. My friend Terry whom I was introduced to DQ claimes or claimed that he beat the green dragon at lv9 with the hand axe, large shield and half plate as well as 6 herbs. Now I didnt believe him and he still hasnt proved it but because of this I always find myself attempting to do the same. And I die  I doubt it's possible but never the less it is a personal quest of mine. So aside from wanting to say that does anyone else have any ammusing anicdotes concerning the original DQ? It doesn't nessasarily have to deal with the green dragon(though mine did)but here's the place to post them if you have them!"

With the upgrade came a few ups and downs. One major loss was the Karma. Another is the absence of an index page. On the bright side, the forums are much more pleasant and I believe this theme suits Dragon Quest well. I noticed avatars are having a slight problem. I am still updating and changing board settings (as there are plenty with the new upgrade). So, what does everyone think?

One of our newest members is nothing short of awesome. Featuring a huge collection of Dragon Quest paraphernalia, this person shows no limits when it comes to DQ (and slimes). Heck, his username sums everything up into one custom phrase: "iloveslimes". This member has posted a few images of his DQ/slime collection in the Dragon Quest Swag thread, so if you are curious to see a glimpse of his fandom, head over to the forums and check them out. You can also click on the link below, as it will take you straight to the highlighted thread. Don't you just like being surrounded by the things you love? I'm pretty sure iloveslimes thinks so!
